These models use an intermediate (center) shaft to allow the use of equal length driveshafts. This shaft is supported at one end in the transaxle and the other end by a bearing and bearing carrier secured to the engine Figs. 1 through 3.
Two types of inner joint are used on these model. A tripod type and a constant velocity type.
