Cold Start Injector: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The cold start injector delivers extra fuel into the air induction system to compensate for poor fuel atomization during starting under various conditions.

OPERATION
The injector is triggered by the starter signal and controlled by the start injector time switch. Fuel is injected directly into the air intake chamber for up to 8 seconds during engine cranking under various engine temperature conditions.
