Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes

FLASH CODE METHOD
1. Turn the Ignition Switch ON.

Connector Face Views Of DLC1 And DLC2 For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Check:





2. Using Special Service Tool (SST) # 09843-18020, connect terminals Tc and E1 of Data Link Connector (DLC)2 or DLC1.
3. Read the DTC from the TRAC Indicator Light on the combination meter.

NOTE:
^ If no code appears, inspect the diagnostic circuit or TRAC Indicator Light circuit.
^ When the trouble area shows normal condition, the normal code may appear.

As an example, the blinking patterns for normal code and code 32 are shown.
4. Codes are explained in the code table.
5. After completing the check, disconnect terminals Tc and E1, and turn off the display.
If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time the lowest numbered DTC will be displayed 1st.

DTC Check Using A Hand-Held Tester:





HAND-HELD TESTER METHOD

NOTE: - Tool Required:
^ LEXUS hand-held tester, or equivalent.

1. IG switch OFF.
2. Hook up the hand-held tester to the Data Link Connector (DLC)2.
3. Ignition (IG) switch ON.
4. Read the DTC by following the prompts on the tester screen.
