Fan Clutch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL






1. Loosen the four nuts holding the fluid coupling to the water pump.
2. Loosen the drive belt tension by turning the drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the drive belt.
3. Remove the four nuts, then the fan/fluid coupling assembly from the water pump.
4. Remove the 4 nuts and fan from the fluid coupling.

INSTALLATION
Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following information:
- Tighten fan to fluid coupling nuts to 7.4 Nm (75 kg.cm, 65 in.lb).
- Tighten fan/fluid coupling assembly nuts to water pump to 16 Nm (165 kg.cm, 12 ft.lb).
