Separate Engine and Transmission

1. Remove oil dipstick and guide for transmission as follows:
(a) Remove the bolt.
(b) Pull out the dipstick and guide from the transmission.






(c) Remove the O-ring from the dipstick guide.
2. Disconnect engine wire from transmission.
3. Remove starter as follows:
(a) Disconnect the starter connector.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts, wire bracket and starter.
4. Remove A/T oil cooler pipes for transmission as follows:
(a) Remove the 3 clamp bolts and 2 brackets.






(b) Loosen the 2 union nuts, and remove the oil cooler pipes.
5. Remove torque converter clutch mounting bolts as follows:
(a) Remove the hole plug.
(b) Turn the crankshaft to gain access to each bolt. Remove the 6 bolts.
6. Remove the 9 bolts, then separate engine and transmission.
