Fuel Pump
1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP RESISTANCE
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Resistance: At 20°C (68°F): 0.2 - 3.0 Ohms
- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the fuel pump and/or set plate.
2. INSPECT FUEL PUMP OPERATION Connect a test lead from the terminal 1 of the connector to the positive (+) terminal of the battery; connect another test lead from the terminal 2 of the connector to the negative (-) terminal of the battery.
NOTICE:
- These tests must be done quickly (within 10 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.
- Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.
- Always connect or disconnect at the battery. If operation is not as specified, replace the fuel pump and/or set plate.
