REMOVAL





1. Loosen the No. 1 AND No. 2 lower suspension arm set bolts.

Installation Hint: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the bolts to 166 Nm (122 ft. lbs.).

2. Remove the front wheel.

NOTE: When installing the wheel, tighten it to 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.).

3. Remove the engine under cover.
4. Remove the brake caliper, after doing the following.
a. Remove the two bolts and caliper.

NOTE: When installing the caliper bolts, tighten them 118 Nm (87 ft. lbs.).

b. Support the brake caliper securely.

5. Disconnect the ABS speed sensor and the wire harness after doing these steps.
a. Remove the bolt and the ABS speed sensor.

NOTE: When installing the sensor tighten it to 7.8 Nm (69 inch lbs.).

. Remove the two bolts and wire harness.

NOTE: When installing the harness, tighten it to 5.0 Nm (44 inch lbs.).

6. Remove the stabilizer bar and the links.
7. Disconnect both of the tie rod ends after doing the following.
a. Remove the clip and nut.

NOTE: When installing the clip and nut, tighten the nut to 87 Nm (64 ft. lbs.).





b. Using the 09610 - 20012 SST, disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.

8. Remove the front shock absorber.
9. Disconnect both of the lower suspension arms, after doing the following.
a. Remove the two cotter pins and nuts.

NOTE: When installing the nuts, tighten them to 127 Nm (95 ft. lbs.).





b. Using the 09628 - 62011 SST, disconnect the two lower suspension arms from the steering knuckles.

10. Remove the steering gear assembly.
11. Remove the front suspension crossmember by doing these steps.





a. Place matchmarks on the two adjusting cams and suspension crossmember.
b. Loosen the two nuts.



Installation Hint: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the nuts as follows.
^ Tighten the No.1 lower suspension arm to 172 Nm (127 ft. lbs.).

^ Tighten the No.2 lower suspension arm to 235 Nm (173 ft. lbs.).





c. Remove the four ABS speed sensor wire harness clamps and bolt.

NOTE: When installing the clamps, tighten them to 6.0 Nm (44 inch lbs.).

d. Remove the five bolts from the front lower brace.

NOTE: When installing the brace, tighten the bolts to 29 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).





e. Remove the four bolts from the rear lower brace.

NOTE: When installing the lower brace, tighten the bolts to 29 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

f. Using an engine sling device, suspend the engine.
g. Remove the two grommets.
h. Remove the two nuts and disconnect the engine mounting from the suspension crossmember.

NOTE: When installing the nuts, tighten them to 74 Nm (64 ft. lbs.).





i. Support the suspension crossmember with a jack.
j. Remove the four bolts.

NOTE: When installing the crossmember, tighten the four bolts to 180 Nm (133 ft. lbs.).





k. Remove the suspension crossmember, front and rear lower braces.





12. Remove the No. 1 and No. 2 lower suspension arms by doing the following.
a. Remove the two nuts, washers, adjusting plates and adjusting cams, and disconnect No.1 and No.2 lower suspension arms from the suspension crossmember.
b. Remove the two bolts and separate the No.1 and No.2 lower suspension arms.
c. Remove the shock absorber bracket from the No.1 lower suspension arm.

NOTE: When installing the bolts, tighten them to 69 Nm (43 ft. lbs.).

13. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: After installation, check the ABS speed sensor signal and the front wheel alignment.

INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- check the front wheel alignment
