Upper
REMOVAL1. Remove the front wheel.
NOTE: When installing the front wheel, tighten it to 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.).
2. Remove the front shock absorber.
3. Remove the two bolts and upper suspension arm.
Installation Hint: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the bolts to 53 Nm (39 ft. lbs.).
NOTE: Inspect the ball joint for rotation condition, doing the following.
a. As shown, flip the ball joint stud back and forth five
b. Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously one turn each 2 - 4 seconds and take the torque reading on the fifth turn. The turning torque is 1.0 - 3.4 Nm (9-30 inch lbs.).
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- check the ABS speed sensor signal
- check the front wheel alignment
