THREE-WAY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS
COMPONENTS FOR REPLACEMENT

CATALYTIC CONVERTERS REPLACEMENT

Front Catalytic Converter:

1. REMOVE FRONT CATALYTIC CONVERTER
(WITH NO.2 FRONT EXHAUST PIPE)
(a) Check that the converter is cool.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts and nuts holding the catalytic converters to the front exhaust pipe.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts and pipe support bracket from the transmission.
(d) Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter and remove the gasket.





(e) Remove the 4 nuts holding the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifolds.
2. REINSTALL FRONT CATALYTIC CONVERTER
(WITH NO.2 FRONT EXHAUST PIPE)






(a) Install 2 new gaskets and the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifolds with 4 new nuts.

Torque: 62 N.m (630 kgf.cm, 46 ft.lbf)

(b) Install the pipe support bracket to the transmission with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)

(c) Install a new gasket to front end of the front exhaust pipe and torque the front exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter.

Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)
