Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection

INSPECT IGNITION COILS
(a) Remove the ignition coil assembly.





(b) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals.





Primary coil resistance:

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ignition coil.





(c) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the positive (+) and high-tension terminals.





Secondary coil resistance:

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ignition coil.
(d) Reinstall the ignition coil assembly.
