The following repair procedures have been developed to help eliminate potential squeak and rattle noises from the shifter bezel and moonroof areas.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES: 2001 model year LS430 vehicles.







PART INFORMATION:

REPAIR PROCEDURES:







1. To eliminate a rattle noise caused by movement of the shift lever bezel, add felt as shown in the illustration.

Remove the shifter bezel by simply using a nylon removing tool or flat-head screwdriver with tape over the tip to prevent scratching.

Add felt length as indicated:
Length: 10 mm
Width: 14 mm
Thickness: 0.3 mm







2. To eliminate a rattle noise caused by movement on the moonroof apply grease as shown in the illustration. Also remove existing felt and replace with a thicker piece. (Length: 9 mm; Width: 18 mm; Thickness: 1-2 mm).

NOTE: Confirm that jam protection does not malfunction after applying a thicker piece of felt.
