Lower






REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. DISCONNECT TIE ROD END FROM LOWER BALL JOINT
a. Remove the clip and nut from the tie rod end.
Torque: 59 Nm (600 kgf-cm, 43 ft. lbs.)





b. Using SST, disconnect the tie rod end from the lower ball joint.

3. DISCONNECT LOWER BALL JOINT FROM STEERING KNUCKLE
Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle.
Torque: 113 Nm (1,150 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.)





4. REMOVE LOWER BALL JOINT FROM LOWER SUSPENSION ARM
a. Remove the clip and nut.
Torque: 162 Nm (1,645 kgf-cm, 119 ft. lbs.)
b. Using SST, disconnect the lower ball joint from the lower suspension arm.

c. Remove the lower ball joint from lower suspension arm.
5. w/o Electronic modulated air suspension: REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER
6. w/ Electronic modulated air suspension: REMOVE FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER
7. REMOVE LOWER SUSPENSION ARM





a. Place matchmarks on the camber adjusting cam and suspension member.





b. Remove the nut, 2 bolts and lower suspension arm with bracket.
Torque:
Nut: 137 Nm (1,395 kgf-cm, 101 ft. lbs.)
Bolt (Vehicle inside): 60 Nm (612 kgf-cm, 44 ft. lbs.)
Bolt (Vehicle outside): 137 Nm (1,395 kgf-cm, 101 ft. lbs.)
c. Remove the adjusting cam bolt, nut, adjusting cam and lower suspension arm.
Torque: 172 Nm (1,755 kgf-cm, 127 ft. lbs.)

REPLACEMENT
REPLACE BUSHING





a. Using SST and a press, remove the bushing.
SST 09613-26010, 09950-00020, 09950-60010 (09951-00650)

HINT: For SST 09613-26010 use 2 thicker half-rings as a pair.





b. Using SST and a press, reinstall a bushing as shown in the illustration.

HINT: For SST 09613-26010, use 2 thicker half-rings as a pair.





HINT: The index tab of the new bushing should be at a right angle (±5°) to the center of the bracket, and facing downwards when seen from outside the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

HINT: After installation, check the front wheel alignment.
