Seat Belt Systems: Service and Repair
Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly:
FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP
a. Hook a screwdriver to part A to bend it toward the inside of the cabin and release the claws. Pull the seat belt anchor cover cap upward and remove it.
NOTE: Do not damage the seat belt.
2. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
a. for Driver seat:
1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt assembly.
b. for Passenger seat:
1. Disconnect the connector.
2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt assembly.
3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER
6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT REAR OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER
7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT REAR INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER
8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY
a. for Driver seat:
1. Disconnect the connectors and disengage the 6 clamps.
b. for Passenger seat:
1. Disconnect the connectors and disengage the 2 clamps.
c. Remove the nut and front seat inner belt assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY
a. Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut.
Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf,cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of the front seat adjuster.
b. for Driver seat:
1. Connect the connectors and engage the 6 clamps.
c. for Passenger seat:
1. Connect the connectors and engage the 2 clamps.
2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT REAR OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER
4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT REAR INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER
5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER
6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER
7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
8. CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
a. for Driver seat:
1. Connect the front seat outer belt assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
b. for Passenger seat:
1. Connect the front seat outer belt assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
2. Connect the connector.
9. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP
a. Engage the 7 claws and install the seat belt anchor cover cap.
10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
NOTE: Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
11. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
