2UR-GSE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR: REMOVAL

2UR-GSE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
HINT: Disconnect the cable from the from the negative (-) battery terminal so that the maximum retard angle of the cam timing control with EDU motor assembly will be learned.

2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL WITH EDU MOTOR LH ASSEMBLY






(a) Disconnect the engine wire clamp.






(b) Disconnect the 2 connectors from the camshaft timing control with EDU motor and engine wire clamp.






(c) Remove the 3 bolts and the camshaft timing control with EDU motor LH assembly.






(d) Remove the O-ring from the timing chain cover.
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

5. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL WITH EDU MOTOR RH ASSEMBLY






(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors from the camshaft timing control with EDU motor and engine wire clamp.






(b) Remove the bolt and engine wire bracket.






(c) Remove the 3 bolts and camshaft timing control motor.






(d) Remove the O-ring from the timing chain cover.
