DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU LH receives the HI position signal of the wiper switch to operate the wiper motor at HI speed. Even if the ECU malfunctions, its circuit structure enables it to operate the wiper in HI operation mode.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU LH





(a) Measure the voltage of the connector.

Standard voltage:





OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (COMBINATION SWITCH)





(a) Measure the resistance of the connector.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the K22 switch connector.

(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the K22 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the V2 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
