Heater Core And Evaporator Core Housing



















Removal and Installation

NOTE: If a heater core leak is suspected, the heater core must be pressure leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle.

1. Remove the instrument panel assembly.

2. Position the instrument panel with the passenger side supported as shown.





3. Remove the 3 RH lower instrument panel insulator screws and position the insulator aside.

4. Remove the 2 remote function actuator module nuts and position the module aside.

5. Detach the in-vehicle temperature sensor aspirator from the heater core and evaporator core housing.

6. Remove the 2 floor duct screws and remove the floor duct.

7. Remove the 4 Audio Control Module (ACM) screws and the ACM.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and antenna connectors.

- Detach the wire harness pin-type retainers.





8. Remove the console duct Y adapter pin-type retainer and the adapter.

9. Remove the RH and LH console duct adapters.

10. Remove the 2 floor duct adapter nuts and the floor duct adapter.

11. Remove the 2 heater core and evaporator core housing stud-bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

12. Remove the 4 heater core and evaporator core housing bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

13. Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors and detach the wire harness pin-type retainer.





14. Detach the 4 wire harness pin-type retainers and disconnect the electrical connector.





15. Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors, detach the wire harness pin-type retainer and detach the instrument panel wire harness from the heater core and evaporator core housing.





16. Remove the heater core and evaporator core housing.

17. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
