DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles have excess Rapgard applied over the front edge of the hood, where it may adhere to the hood weatherstrip. If the Rapgard is quickly pulled/ripped off, the hood weatherstrip may be damaged.

Follow the procedure below to remove the Rapgard without damaging the weatherstrip.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

NOTE:
Starting at each end of the hood and working towards the center, slowly and carefully remove the Rapgard from the weatherstrip.

1. Grasp one corner of the Rapgard and slowly and carefully start to peel it (upward) off the weatherstrip.

2. Working towards the center of the hood, continue peeling the edge of the Rapgard off the weatherstrip. Repeat this process until reaching the center of the hood.

3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 on the other side of the hood until all of the Rapgard is removed from the weatherstrip.

4. Remove the remaining Rapgard from the surface of the hood as usual.
