Interior - Driver's Seat Squeaks With Vehicle Running

SQUEAKING NOISE FROM DRIVER SEAT WHILE VEHICLE IS RUNNING
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2010 Mazda3 (with manual seat height adjustment) vehicles with VINs lower than JM1 BL**** ** 181962 (produced before July 6, 2009)
DESCRIPTION
Some customers may complain of a squeaking noise from the driver's seat while the vehicle is running. The squeak noise comes from the front axis of the seat height adjustment shaft and the cushion side frame.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Set the driver's seat to the highest position using the seat height adjustment lever.
3. Remove the driver's seat from the vehicle. Refer to Workshop manual section 09-13 FRONT SEAT REMOVAL / INSTALLATION.
4. Apply molybdenum grease to the axis on both the left (L) and right (R) sides near the front of the seat.
5. Set up the driver's seat in the vehicle.
6. Move the seat height adjustment lever up and down twice to spread the applied grease.
7. Install the driver's seat in the vehicle. Refer to Workshop manual section 09-13 FRONT SEAT REMOVAL / INSTALLATION.
8. Verify repair.
