Subject: STATIC NOISE FROM SPEAKERS WHEN USING AUXILIARY JACK
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2010 Mazda3 vehicles (including Mazdaspeed3) with VINS lower than
JM1 BL****** 198728 (produced before August 7, 2009)
DESCRIPTION
Some customers may complain about static noise from the speakers when using a portable audio device connected to the vehicle's audio system via the auxiliary (AUX) jack.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Remove the audio unit. Refer to MS3 online instructions or Workshop manual section 09-20 AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.
3. Separate the audio panel from the audio unit and replace the audio unit with a modified one.
4. Install the audio unit.
5. Verify repair.
