GF82.61-P-4001GH Destination Finding In Non-Digitized Map Area, Function

GF82.61-P-4001GH Destination Finding In Non-Digitized Map Area, Function
- with CODE (352a) COMAND operating and display system
- except CODE (491) U.S. version
- except CODE (498) Japanese version

When traveling outside of the digitized map area (e.g. company grounds, multi-level car parks, dirt roads,...), however still within the CD-ROM map area, the navigation computer switches to " Destination finding in non-digitized map area ".

On the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) display the following message is shown:
"OFF ROAD"

Moreover, if the vehicle is also outside the CD-ROM map area, and this also includes outside the country, the following message appears:
"NO MAP"

In both cases only a basic position finding (dead reckoning) takes place with rectification through the GPS no map data instead of ( matching).

The limited route guidance is performed only when the following is specified:
- straight-line distance to the destination and
- direction to the destination (as arrow).

After reentering the digitized map area, the system automatically continues with " Destination finding in digitized map area " . With the aid of the GPS position the possible roads are determined, on which the vehicle may be located. Here, it may come to temporary delays in the route-guidance process.

In the event that the "NO MAP" message is displayed, the complete route guidance can be resumed if an international CD for the appropriate country is inserted.
