GF88.79-P-2002GH Fold Left/Right Exterior Mirror, Function

GF88.79-P-2002GH Fold Left/right Exterior Mirror, Function
- as of 1.3.98 except CODE (491) U.S. version

Function requirements
- No overvoltage/undervoltage
- Circuit 15 ON

Function up to 31.08.01
Operate the exterior mirror fold-in/out switch (S50/1) in the fold-in or fold-out direction. The two mirror folding motors (M21/1m3 and M21/2m3) in the exterior mirror housings are connected in parallel. The actuation voltage is supplied to them through the convenience relay (F1k14) and the switch. The actuation voltage is poled accordingly by the switch in order to fold the mirrors in or out. The motors move the mirrors so long as the switch is operated. No limit switches are present, the motors block once the end position is reached.

Re-latching unlatched mirror
If a mirror housing has been turned mechanically, it must first of all be latched in place before the mirror fold-in/out function will operate correctly again. To do this, continue operating switch in the direction of "fold-in mirror" until the unlatched mirror is heard to latch in place.

If the switch is operated in the direction of "fold-out mirror", the mirror will latch into the incorrect position and can then no longer be folded in! In such a case, turn the mirror by hand and allow it to latch in place once again by folding it in with the switch.

Function as of 01.09.01
The exterior mirror housings are moved automatically into the selected position by operating the exterior mirror fold-in and fold-out switch (N72s19) by means of the
- mirror fold-in motor (M21/1m3) and
- mirror fold-in motor (M21/2m3).

For the mirror fold-in function, the vehicle speed signal must not be greater than v ≤ 15 km/h (can be parameterized).

The motors are supplied with the actuation voltage through the exterior mirror fold-in and fold-out switch (N72s19) all-activity by the module (AAM) (N10).

Automatic folding-out
If the exterior mirror housings are not folded out, they are moved into the driving position from a vehicle speed signal of v ≥ 47 km/h for t=0.9 seconds.

If the exterior mirror fold-in and fold-out switch (N72s19) was operated for t=0.6 seconds, no actuation is performed if the vehicle speed signal reaches v=47 km/h.
