Heating System (Without TAC), Function
Function
The heater provides a pleasant room temperature for the vehicle passengers after varying weather conditions.
A temperature can be set with the temperature dial on the heater control panel. This setting is transferred to the air mixing dampers in the heater housing by a control wire and actuating mechanism. Control is accomplished here as follows:
Temperature dials set to MAX (full heating capacity)
The air sucked in flows through the heater core due to the position of the air mixing dampers. Generally, heated coolant flows through the heater core warming up the air flowing through. The heated air then flows through various air outlets into the vehicle passenger compartment.
Temperature dial in MIN position (heater OFF)
In this position, the air mixing dampers dose the path to the heater core. The fresh air sucked in flows directly to the air outlets and into the vehicle passenger compartment.
