Navigation System - Incorrect Displays

DVD Navi Software Update v.01.00.11
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of incorrectly displayed road types and prefixes of addresses, update the software in the DVD navigation drive to version 01.00.11. Dealers will receive the service DVD with v.01.00.11 the week of July 28, 2003.
Note:
This software update does not apply to M-Class vehicles with CD based navigation.
Examples of incorrect road types and prefixes of addresses are shown below. In the confirmation screen of Street I Intersection address input, and when the user clicks directly on the road on the map, an irregular road name type and affix of address are shown.

(Correct) 2349 W 190TH ST, TORRANCE, CA
(Shown) 2349 N* 190TH STA, TORRANCE, CA
(Correct) 19322 5 WESTERN AVE, TORRANCE, CA
(Shown) 19322 SE WESTERN AVLA, TORRANCE, CA
To update MCS, please do the following:
1. Turn on the ignition.
2. Turn on the Radio/Navigation unit.
3. Make sure the unit is in the Navigation Mode if not already (press NAVI (MENU) key if necessary).
4. Press the ENT (Enter) key to accept the Legal Disclaimer Screen.
5. Make sure that the MAP REGION is in the Mainland US, if correct proceed to step 6, if not in the Mainland US please follow the steps outlined below:
a. Go to NAVI Main Menu (press NAVI (MENU) key).
b. Go to SYSTEM SETUP and select (press ENT key).
c. Go to Map Region and select (press ENT key).
d. Go to Hawaii and select (press ENT key).
e. Move the highlight to Mainland US and select (press ENT key).
f. When the dialog box pops up "Are you sure you want to change the map region? System has to restart." Highlight Yes and select (press ENT key).
g. System will blackout for a moment and restart.
h. Press ENT (Enter) key to accept the Legal Disclaimer Screen. The Map Region should now be Mainland US.
6. Carefully eject the customers DVD, insert the CD Update Disc (printed side up), and close the Radio/Navigation unit (screen) door by pressing the OPEN key.
7. A black screen will appear for a few moments and "Please do not shut off engine" then on the screen will appear with green progress bar.
8. After the download is complete, remove the CD Update Disc and reinsert the customers DVD disc back into the Navigation unit.
9. Road test the vehicle and verify that you can program a destination.
10. The update is now finished.
11. Return the installation instructions and CD Update Disc to the jewel case.
Note:
This CD only contains operating system software and does not contain any additional map coverage or database updates!
