C. Installing the SDAR Control Module

1. Mount the SDAR control module to the front of the CD changer bracket with three 8-mm nuts from behind (Figure 9).





2. Find the D2B adapter harness in the installation kit (Figure 10).

NOTICE
Do not kink optical fibers, route them over sharp edges, or bend them in radii smaller than 25 mm.

3. In the CD changer compartment, find, taped to the vehicle wiring harness, the:





^ SDAR antenna leads (A, Figure 11)

^ SDAR power supply cable (B, Figure 11)

4. Remove the tape and plastic wire protector from the D2B cable and save the wire protector (C, Figure 11).

Note:
In vehicles without the optional CD changer, find the D2B cable (C, Figure 11) and power supply cable (D, Figure 11) taped to the vehicle wiring harness inside the CD changer compartment.

5. Carefully disassemble the CD changer angled D2B connector (C, Figure 11) and remove the fibers.





6. Gently insert the red fiber end (A, Figure 12), removed from the angled D2B connector, into the adapter harness coupler (A, Figure 10).

7. Gently insert the clear fiber end (B, Figure 12), removed from the angled D2B connector, into the empty chamber of the adapter harness connector (B, Figure 10).

Note:
Place the plastic wire protector saved in Step 4 over the D2B cable with the clear fiber end (B, Figure 12).

8. Remount the CD changer.

9. Reconnect the power supply connector to the CD changer.

10. Connect the SDAR power supply connector to the SDAR control module (D, Figure 12).

11. Fold back the foam sleeves to expose the SDAR antenna lead connectors.

12. Connect the blue and white SDAR antenna lead connectors (A, Figure 11) to the like colored receptacles on the SDAR control module (E, Figure 12).

13. Fold down the foam sleeves over the coupled SDAR antenna connectors.





14. Connect the D2B connector (C, Figure 12) to the SDAR control module (A, Figure 13).


15. Bundle the power supply cables and D2B cables in the cable clamp (B, Figure 13).





16. Connect the D2B connector (B, Figure 12) to the CD changer (A, Figure 14).

NOTICE
Allow free movement of the bundled, secured cables for swinging open the hinged SDAR control module/CD changer bracket assembly.

17. Carefully insert the D2B cables into the clips (B, Figure 14) and gently route them through the channels (C, Figure 14) on the bottom of the CD changer.
