A/C - Ticking Noises/Center Vent Malfunctions

Clicking Noise and Malfunction of Center Air Outlet

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a clicking noise and/or a malfunctioning center air outlet, the cause may be a broken stop on the drive sleeve for the center outlet actuator motor. Follow the procedure below to replace the drive sleeve.








1. Remove the actuator motor for the center air outlet. Refer to WIS document AR83.10-P-2019GH.
2. Remove drive sleeve (Figure 1, 1) for the center air outlet from the AC housing.
3. Install new drive sleeve A163 683 06 54 into the housing (Figures 1 and 2).
4. Install actuator motor.

NOTE: It is not necessary to replace the air outlet module or the actuator motor. The drive sleeve is to be replaced separately.
