Rear Engine Compartment Cover Paneling Broken or Spacer Washer Lying Loose on the Panel
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding the rear engine compartment cover paneling broken in the area of the two mounting bolts (Figure 1 arrows), this can be caused by either or both spacer washers missing or incorrectly installed. In this case, it is necessary to install the second version shield, part number A0164 5200224, without the spacer washers.
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding a rattling noise from beneath the engine, this may be due to either or both spacer washers for the rear engine compartment cover paneling being incorrectly installed and lying on the shield. In this case, lower the rear engine compartment cover paneling and install one spacer washer on each of the two bolts (Figure 1, arrows).
