Body/Restraints - Noise From C-Pillar Area

Body Noise from Right C-Pillar Area

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding a body noise from the right C-pillar area, note that the metal housing for the right rear Emergency Tensioning Retractor (ETR) is slightly concave which may result in partial contact with the C-pillar sheet metal. To resolve, perform the following procedure.





1. Detach right rear ETR (Figure 1, 1) from C-pillar. Refer to WIS Document AR91.40-P-0681GZ.

Note:
Do not completely remove seat belt, only detach ETR from C-pillar, do not detach seat belt end fitting.

2. Install foam (Figure 1, 2) onto surface of ETR between ETR and C-pillar (Figure 1,1).

3. Reinstall right rear ETR (Figure 1, 1) on C-pillar. Refer to WIS Document AR91.40-P-0681 GZ.
