Creaking / Grunting Noise From Area of Rear Axle When Driving Over Road

Undulations

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a creaking / grunting noise from the rear axle area when driving over road undulations, replace the rear upper spring seat(s) with a revised part (Figure 1). Reference WIS document AR32.20-P-0230GZ.








Note:
The revised part uses the same part number as the original spring seat. Use the images below (Figure 1, 2 and 3) to correctly identify the revised version.

Note:
The noise is the result of the coil spring's 2nd coil contacting the upper spring seat. The noise can be reproduced by rocking the vehicle at the rear axle.
