Creaking Noises When Exterior Mirror Manually Folded Out

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of creaking noises occurring when the exterior mirror is manually folded out (by hand), this may be due insufficient lubrication to the guide-way between the guide lever and mounting. To remedy perform the following.

1. Fold exterior mirror housing just enough to access guide-way.

Warning: Do not apply excessive force. Mirror housing will break.





2. Lubricate guide-way region (Figure 1, circle) with special sliding compound spray.

NOTE: Apply lubricant sparingly.

3. Fold back exterior mirror housing.

NOTE: This repair is non-time claimable under Group 88. Maximum time allowed is 0.2 hrs. with a separate time punch.
