Complaint:
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles equipped with [single monitor type]dealer installed Rear Seat Entertainment System (RSE-S) having any of the conditions below. Follow the procedures to remedy the conditions accordingly.
Condition 1: DVD Player cannot recognize REGION 1 (US) DVDs
Condition 2: Display inoperative even when the DVD is recognized by the player. This condition may occur only with Black color displays, part number B6 782 6626, Serial Number Range DAC07040001 - DAC07041200

Cause:
Cause1: DVD player region code may be incorrectly coded. For USA, the DVD player must be set to REGION1
Cause 2: Hardware malfunction in the display.
Remedy:
Remedy 1: Change the Region Code of the DVD player to REGION1 by following the below steps.
Note:
With the steps below, you will be accessing the Engineering Mode for the RSE. This information is to be used ONLY by Dealership Technicians.
1. Eject the DVD from the player, and press stop twice
2. Use remote control to access the "set up" menu using one of two paths below (based on the part number of the Remote Control - RC)
3. Scroll using the RC's arrows and select "preferences"
4. Depending on the Remote Control part number press the following buttons IN SEQUENCE
a. For RC part number B6 782 6629: "Angle", "subtitle", "Menu", "Audio"
b. For RC part number B6 782 66 77: "9", "6", "5", "3"
The software version and the DVD region code are displayed...
5. Scroll to select REGION 1
6. Back out of the menus -> reset the system and re-insert a test Region 1 DVD for test.
7. Should this condition still occur, replace the DVD player. Refer to WIS documents AZ82.60-P-0013GZ (164) or AZ82.60-P-0005RT (251).
Remedy 2: Replace the display. Ref to WIS documents AZ82.60-P-0013GZ (164) or AZ82.60-P-0005RT (251).
Note:
The system referenced in this LI is the single monitor solution which is located between the passenger & driver seats. (See attachment)
