Component Identification:

Location
The wiper motor (M6/1) is located in the engine compartment underneath the windshield on the left in the direction o travel.
The tailgate wiper motor (M6/4) is located in the center under the paneling in the tailgate.

Task
The wiper motors drive the wiper arms via a linkage. The integral electronics in the motor control the movement of the window wipers.
