Exterior Mirror Cannot Be Adjusted
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the exterior mirror glass cannot be adjusted electrically, this may be caused by too much tension on the harness causing the electrical connector to loosen. To resolve, perform the following.
1. Remove exterior mirror housing. Refer to WIS document AR88.70-P-9040GZ (Model 164) or AR88.70-P-9040RT (Model 251).
2. Refasten the connector for the exterior mirror glass adjustment to the mirror adjustment motor.
3. Secure the harness to mirror housing using cable tie (Figure 1).
NOTE:
Steps 2 and 3 of this repair are non-time claimable under Group 88.
Warning: Only secure harness for mirror glass adjustment. Do not secure the harnesses for the mirror heater or mirror turn signal.
4. Reinstall exterior mirror housing. Refer to WIS document AR88.70-P-9040GZ (Model 164) or AR88.70-P-9040RT (Model 251).
