Saving telephone entries
The voice control system (VCS [SBS]) permits the user to save new telephone book entries into the telephone book of the VCS [SBS].
Frequently used telephone numbers can be stored here in the voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit (N41/3) together with freely selectable names. 30 - 50 entries can be stored depending on the length of the names selected.
To extend the telephone book, the user needs, after activation of the VCS [SBS] with the VCS [SBS] on button (S111s4) and activation of the telephone application through the VCS [SBS] with the "Telephone" command, the following commands:
^ Store name
^ Store number
^ Store telephone number
After the command (e.g. "Save telephone number") has been entered, the user is prompted by the VCS [SBS] to enter a telephone number.
The entry stored in the telephone book can only be called up reliably by the user who stored them.
This can be accomplished by saying either:
^ Number blocks, suitable for entry of longer numbers (approx. 3-5 numbers per number block, with a speech pause of approx. 0.5 s in-between the number blocks)
or by entering:
^ Number chains (up to 30 digits, without speech pause).
If an error occurred during entry of the desired telephone number, e.g., faulty recognition of a number by the VCS [SBS], it is possible for the user to delete or correct the number.
If no errors occurred during entry of the number, the VCS [SBS] prompts the user to say the name to be allocated by "Please say name" following the "Save" command.
When this name has been entered by the user, the VCS requests the user to say the name again as confirmation. If a different name is given when the name is entered the second time, the VCS [SBS] voice output requests the user to "Please say again".
If the user then enters the first name, the VCS requests the user to repeat the name again.
The VCS [SBS] stores the telephone book entry (name and associated number) in the telephone book only when the associated name and its repetition are identical.
The voice output of the VCS [SBS] states "Name and number have been saved".
Calling up telephone book entries
The user can have the VCS [SBS] read out the telephone book entries via the command "Read telephone book". In doing so, the user can select a certain name and thus start the dialing process.
Deleting individual entries in telephone book
The user can use the command "Delete name" to delete an individual entry from the telephone book.
The VCS then requests the user to say the name to be deleted.
After entry of the name by the user, the VCS [SBS] asks, as a confirmation, whether the name selected is really to be deleted. If the user answers "Yes", the telephone book entry is deleted. The VCS [SBS] indicates this action via the voice output: "Name deleted".
If the user answers "No", the name remains stored. Any other word spoken by the user terminates dialog with the VCS [SBS]
Deleting all entries in the telephone book
The user can use the editing command "Delete telephone book" to delete all entries from the telephone book.
The VCS [SBS] asks in the dialogue "Would you like to delete the telephone book?". If the user answers "Yes", then the VCS [SBS] asks "Are you sure?". Another "Yes" prompts the VCS [SBS] to delete all entries in the telephone book.
If the user answers with "No", the VCS [SBS] starts reading out the telephone book entries. While the telephone book is being read out, the user can select a name to be deleted by actuating (activating) the VCS [SBS] on button. The VCS [SBS] then repeats the selected name and the user is prompted to confirm the deleting process with the question "Would you like to delete the name". The user is then asked by the VCS [SBS], as a confirmation, if the user really wants to delete the selected name. If he/she answers "No", the VCS [SBS] continues to read out the telephone book entries. Any other word terminates dialog with the VCS.
The user can cancel the dialogue with the VCS [SBS] at any time by pressing the VCS [SBS] off button (S110s4).
Deleting or correcting number chains/blocks during number entry
In the event of a faulty recognition through the VCS [SBS] or a wrong entry by the user during the entry of a number, the use can correct the number corresponding to the type of entry (number chain or number blocks).
If the number has been entered as a number chain (spoken together without pauses), the number can only be changed with the editing commands:
^ Delete
^ Delete number
^ Delete telephone number
This means that all numbers previously entered are deleted and the VCS [SBS] outputs a message to the user via voice output asking him/her to enter further digits or commands by saying "Number deleted, please say number or command".
If the number has been stored as a series of number blocks (3 - 5 digits per block, speech pause of 0.5 s between individual blocks), the number can be changed with the editing commands:
^ Correcting
^ correction
^ Correct telephone number
^ Correct telephone number
This means that the block of digits last entered is deleted and the previous entered block of digits is repeated by the VCS. Then the VCS [SBS] prompts the user with the voice output "Continue" to enter more digits or commands.
With both types of number entries, the VCS [SBS] announces, after entry of more than 30 digits without speech pause, "The number is already too long" and the user is prompted to enter the stated number as a sequence of number blocks.
By entering number blocks, it is possible to also enter telephone numbers with more than 30 digits. Moreover, in the event of a faulty recognition of the VCS [SBS] or incorrect entry by the user, correcting the telephone number is made easier.
If the user wants to check the numbers entered so far by listening to them, this is possible with the command "Repeat". The VCS [SBS] repeats all of the numbers entered up to that point and then prompts the user with the voice output "Continue" to enter additional numbers or a command.
