GF40.15-P-0001-04RT Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM), Messages Relevant to the Function

GF40.15-P-0001-04RT Tire pressure monitor (TPM), messages relevant to the function
- with CODE (475) Tire pressure monitor (Siemens)
- up to model year 08

The function-relevant messages are displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) and display the current tire pressure monitor system status to the driver.

Function-relevant messages are broken down into:
^ System fault(s)
^ System messages
^ Information messages

System faults are stored in the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88) with a fault code and system messages with an event code.

System messages describe a regular operating condition. In the event of a complaint there is no need to exchange system components.

The following messages relevant to the function can occur:

System fault(s)

This system error message appears for:
^ Problems in the CAN data bus;
^ Failure of a system component;
^ The instrument cluster does not receive any CAN messages from the TPM [RDK] control unit (e.g. cable open-circuit or interrupted connector with circuit 15 "ON").

A corresponding fault code is stored in the TPM [RDK] control unit.

System messages

This system message appears after manual reactivation.

Activation is possible with circuit 15 "ON" or when the engine is running.

System messages

This system message is activated for the following criteria:
^ An external interference transmitter hinders data transfer.
^ Overvoltage, undervoltage

The system message is displayed for a temporary fault in the tire pressure monitoring system.

Information messages

The pressure values are not displayed until the tire pressure monitor system (TPM) can unambiguously assign them. Until the teach-in process is complete (total driving time approx. 10 minutes), only the information message opposite is displayed instead of the pressure values.

This information message cannot be acknowledge using the trip odometer reset button (A1s3). Pressing the trip odometer reset button only starts a new activation process.

Information messages

The transmitter key (A8/1) is in the position circuit 15 "ON". The current pressure values are only displayed when the engine is running and only after driving for approx. 10 minutes.

Information messages

Individual wheel electronics units missing, the remaining wheels can still be monitored:

Possible causes are
^ The spare tire is fitted without wheel electronics.
^ Wheel electronics is defective.
^ Battery of the corresponding wheel sensor is flat.
^ Excess temperature
