If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the above mentioned conditions, please refer to the respective remedies indicated below.
Condition A - Models 164.822/825/871/886: If the right side second row seat fold up mechanism is not working correctly, the cable may not be properly adjusted.
Remedy A:
1. Lift up seat cushion by pulling up on nylon loop (Figure 1, arrow).
2. Open Velcro fastener at front edge of exposed felt mat (Figure 2, arrows) to expose cables (Figure 3).
3. Locate adjuster (Figure 4, arrow) and carefully lift up adjuster clip (Figure 5) with a small screwdriver to reset the bowden cable.
Note:
Do not remove the clip completely (Figure 6).
4. Close the adjuster by pressing the clip back into place.
5. If the second row seat release strap junction box is not secured by a tie wrap (Figure 7, arrow), install a local purchase tie wrap as shown to prevent the box from accidentally opening.
6. Reinstall felt mat and secure with Velcro closure at front edge.
7. Fold seat cushion back in place.
Condition B - Models 164.822/825/871/886: If the right side second row seat red release strap is inoperative, the junction box may have opened up.
Remedy B:
1. Lift up seat cushion by pulling up on nylon loop (Figure 1, arrow)
2. Open Velcro fastener at front edge of exposed felt mat (Figure 2, arrows) to expose cables (Figure 3).
3. Check if the junction box (Figure 7) between the red rear seat backrest release strap (Figure 8, arrow) and the Bowden cable has opened.
4. Correctly install Bowden cable (Figure 9, arrow) and clip junction box halves together.
5. Secure the junction box halves with a local purchase tie wrap (Figure 7, arrow).
6. Reinstall felt mat and secure with Velcro closure at front edge.
7. Fold seat cushion back in place.
Condition C - All 164 Models: If the second row seat cushion release mechanism gets stuck, the cause may be that the customer moved the front seat back when the rear seat was folded down, causing the seat cushion shell and hinge to compress and deform as illustrated in Figures 10 and 11.
Remedy C:
1. Push the second row seat cushion back towards the rear of the vehicle and simultaneously pull the release loop (Figure 12, 1 and 2)
2. Fold up the seat cushion to the maximum opening angle (Figure 12, 3)
3. Check to see that the seat locks and releases properly. Repeat step 2 if necessary.
