INSTALL REAR ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE
This Service Campaign has been initiated because DCAG has determined that the rear entertainment system may not operate due to a software fault in the audio/video unit. Dealers will install updated rear entertainment software on the affected vehicles during the next workshop visit.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the procedure steps exactly as described.
Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.
Approximately 2,202 vehicles are affected.
Procedure
Note:
Prior to starting the procedure ensure to:
^ Use DAS 10/07 with all associated patches or higher.
^ Follow the steps exactly as described in DAS.
^ Connect battery charger to ensure sufficient power supply from vehicle on-board electrical system battery (greater than 12.5 V).
1. Connect Star Diagnosis.
2. Install rear entertainment software:
Follow the DAS path: Control units/Information and communication/Audio, video, navigation and telematics/Rear compartment entertainment AVE-H - Rear audio video unit/Control unit adaptations/Control module programming... program the unit using "Hard disk" --> Follow on screen instructions.
Note:
^ Please be aware that only the part number(s) referenced in the Campaign Bulletin is/are approved for use to repair the vehicle. Repairs performed using any other part(s) will not have been performed in accordance with the campaign. Accordingly, warranty claims submitted with reference to an improper part number(s) will be denied.
^ The following allowable labor operation should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair:
