[8] Monitoring of mean quantity adaptation: Plausibility
Test 1: Monitoring of mean quantity adaptation
Test 2: Possible cause:
- N3/9 (CDI control unit)
Affected functions:
- Engine diagnosis
1. Monitoring of mean quantity adaptation
Test 1.1: Inspect charge air system for leaks.
Test 1.2: Check component HFM-SFI.
Test 1.3: Check component G3/2 (O2 sensor upstream of KAT).
Test 1.4: Reset quantity mean value adaptation data.
1.1. Inspect charge air system for leaks.
Inspect charge air system for leaks.
Important notes
- The following test sequence has changed.
- Follow the test procedure precisely!
- The test must be performed with the engine oil cap removed.
Communication with ECU required
1.2. Check component HFM-SFI.
Test 1.2.1: Check component B2/6 (Left hot film mass air flow sensor).
Test 1.2.2: Check component B2/7 (Right hot film mass air flow sensor).
1.2.1. Check component B2/6 (Left hot film mass air flow sensor).
Check signal of component B2/6 (Left hot film mass air flow sensor) via actual value with engine OFF.
Test prerequisites
- Ignition ON
- Engine not running
- The air extractor system may not be connected to the exhaust system during the test.
- The hot film MAF sensor must have no air flow during the no-air test.
- Battery voltage is OK.
Status of associated actual value
- Engine speed:Warning! Communication with ECU required.
1.2.2. Check component B2/7 (Right hot film mass air flow sensor).
Check signal of component B2/7 (Right hot film mass air flow sensor) via actual value with engine OFF.
Test prerequisites
- Ignition ON
- Engine not running
- The air extractor system may not be connected to the exhaust system during the test.
- The hot film MAF sensor must have no air flow during the no-air test.
- Battery voltage is OK.
Status of associated actual value
- Engine speed:Warning! Communication with ECU required.
1.3. Check component G3/2 (O2 sensor upstream of KAT).
Important note:Reset quantity mean value adaptation data after replacing the following components:(Control unit adaptations/Reset quantity mean value adaptation data.)
- G3/2 (O2 sensor upstream of KAT)
- B2/6 (Left hot film mass air flow sensor)
- B2/7 (Right hot film mass air flow sensor)
- B4/6 (Rail pressure sensor)
- Air filter
Communication with ECU required
1.4. Reset quantity mean value adaptation data.
In this case proceed as follows:
- Select menu 'Control unit adjustments' in control unit CDI.
- Reset quantity mean value adaptation data.
1.4. No further information available.
2. No further information available.
