Electric Folding for the Exterior Mirrors Not Functioning

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the electric folding feature for the exterior mirrors not functioning, this may be due to the electrical connector for the mirror folding feature not being seated correctly in the mirror housing. To resolve, perform the following.

1. Remove exterior mirror. Refer to WIS document AR88.70-P-9000GZ.





2. Detach lock washer (Figure 1, 1).





3. Pull off plastic cap (Figure 1, 2).

4. Check connector (Figure 2) for proper seating. If necessary, reseat connector.

5. Reinstall plastic cap (Figure 1, 2).

6. Reinstall lock washer (Figure 1, 1).

7. Reinstall exterior mirror. Refer to WIS document AR88.70-P-9000GZ.

NOTE:

Operation: Outside mirror on left, R&R/replace (88-3221)
If necessary: Outside mirror on right, R&R/replace (88-3231)
If necessary: Outside mirrors (both), R&R/replace (88-3243)
