Noise in Area of Wiper Assembly or Rub Marks on Wiper Arm
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of one or both of the following symptoms, this may be due to the attachment point on the underside of the right wiper arm cap being out of tolerance which will cause the right wiper arm cap to rub against right wiper arm (Figure 1, A).
1. During wiper operation, noise emanating from instrument panel or wiper assembly region.
2. Rub marks on right wiper arm (Figure 2, B).
To resolve, check thickness of attachment point (Figure 3, C) on the underside of the right wiper arm cap. If the thickness is less than five millimeters replace the cap. If the paintwork on the wiper arm is damaged, replace the wiper arm as per WIS document AR82.30-P-6100RT.
Note:
Before installing new right wiper arm cap, ensure thickness of attachment point is at least five millimeters.
