Fuel Filler Flap Loose








If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding a loose fuel filler flap, the locking tab for the fuel filler flap may not exert sufficient pressure (Figure 1) against the hinge portion. To tighten the fit between the fuel filler flap and the hinge, bond the fuel filler flap with a small piece of butyl tape (Figure 2) as used for windshields. There should be no need to replace the hinge assembly to correct the condition.
