Reason for change

Complaint:

Steering column tube trim broken.

Cause:

Opposing forces when adjusting the steering column tube switch module (MRSM) up or down.

Remedy:

To avoid follow-up repairs, remove the spring on the steering column covering (leather bellows frame).

First remove the steering column covering as per work instructions AR68.10-P-1060GZ.

In order to remove the spring, first detach it from the anchoring on the left side and then pull it away upwards. Then remove the spring on the right side.

It is not absolutely necessary to reorder the leather bellows frame, however all damaged parts should be replaced.
