Location
The rear automatic air conditioning air recirculation unit is located in the roof of the passenger or load compartment below the headliner level with the C-pillar.

Task
The rear automatic air conditioning air recirculation unit serves to distribute the recirculated air required for ventilation in the passenger or load compartment of the vehicle to the roof air duct and the air nozzles that can be swiveled and closed. The rear automatic air conditioning recirculation unit performs this depending on the specified temperature set using the rear temperature selection switch (S98s15) integrated into the KLA control and operating unit (S98) and depending on the blower stage set using the rear blower control button (+) (S98s2) and the rear blower control button (-) (S98s3) integrated into the KLA control and operating unit.

Design
The rear automatic air conditioning recirculation unit consists of the following parts:
- Cover and insulating mat
- Inner housing parts
- Rear evaporator
- Blower motor with integrated thermal protection switch
- Blower regulator (A32/2a1)
- Blend air flap actuator motor with integrated blend air flap potentiometer (A32/2r2)
- Refrigerant shutoff valve with integrated rear expansion valve
