Location
The two additional roof air conditioning fans are located on the basic carrier of the rear heavy duty automatic air conditioning recirculation unit above the roof air conditioning condenser on the roof of the vehicle.

Task
The two additional roof air conditioning fans ensure that the roof air conditioning condenser is cooled down when the vehicle is stationary or driving.

Function
Function requirement: "Terminal 15 ON".
Depending on how it is actuated by the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (S98) the roof additional fan relay switches the two additional roof air conditioning fans into a series or a parallel connection. The two additional roof air conditioning fans are cut in or shut off to match the respective refrigerant pressure, as shown below in the list.







As soon as stage 2 is connected, it is no longer actuated by the roof additional fan relay (holding relay). When switching back to stage 1, stage 2 is switched off first and after 3 s (parameterizable) stage 1 is switched on again.
Stage 2 is not switched on directly. Stage 1 is switched on for at least 3 s at first.

When the engine is started, the two additional roof air conditioning fans are not cut in.
