GF83.10-D-4160H Rear Blower Motor, Component Description
GF83.10-D-4160H Rear Blower Motor, Component Description
- with CODE (H13) Additional heat exchanger in load compartment
A32/1 Rear heater/air conditioner air recirculation unit
A32/1a1 Rear heater blower regulator
A32/1m1 Rear heater blower motor
Location
The rear heater blower motor is located in the rear heater/air conditioner air recirculation unit.
Task
The rear heater blower motor increases or reduces the rate of circulation of fresh air or recirculated air in the vehicle depending on how it is actuated by the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (S98).
Design
The rear heater blower motor consists of a housing, the permanent magnets which are located on the housing wall, a solenoid armature with winding, a thermal protection switch, the motor axle and the blower wheel, which is located on the motor axle.
Function
In vehicles except code (HH9) Regulated air conditioning (Tempmatic), the rear heater blower regulator limits the voltage applied at the rear heater blower motor to a certain value according to the setting of the rear blower switch (S98s16) integrated in the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit.
In vehicles with code (HH9) Regulated air conditioning (Tempmatic), the rear heater blower regulator limits the voltage applied at the rear heater blower motor to a certain value according to the setting by means of the rear blower control button (+) (S98s2) and the rear blower control button (-) (S98s3), which are integrated in the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit.
The flow of current in the winding generates a weak or powerful magnetic field depending on the amperage. This magnetic field in turn induces the solenoid armature with winding to rotate in the magnetic field of the permanent magnet and the motor axle turns slower or faster. The thermal protection switch protects the rear heater blower motor against a thermal overload.
