Location
The blend air flap actuator motor is located in the rear automatic air conditioning recirculation unit.

Task
The blend air flap actuator motor adjusts the blend air and shutoff flap depending on the temperature set using the rear temperature selection switch (S98s15) integrated into the KLA control and operating unit (S98). This in turn controls the recirculated air flowing through the rear evaporator.

Design
The blend air flap actuator motor consists of a housing, an electric motor and a blend air flap potentiometer (A32/2r2).

Function
Depending on the position of the rear temperature selection switch integrated into the KLA control and operating unit, the KLA control and operating unit actuates the electric motor integrated into the blend air flap actuator motor. The electric motor moves the blend air and shutoff flap and thus regulates the flow rate of recirculated air over the rear evaporator. The KLA control and operating receives feedback concerning the position of the blend air and shutoff flap via the blend air flap potentiometer integrated into the blend air flap actuator motor, enabling the KLA control and operating to regulate the position accordingly.
