Location
The blend air flap actuator motor is located in the rear heavy duty automatic air conditioning recirculation unit on the roof of the vehicle.

Task
The blend air flap actuator motor adjusts the blend air and shutoff flap to match the position of the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit's (S98) integrated rear temperature selection switch (S98s15).
This regulates the recirculated air flowing through the roof air conditioning evaporator.

Design
The blend air flap actuator motor consists of a housing, an electric motor and the blend air flap potentiometer.

Function
The AAC [KLA] control and operating unit actuates the electric motor integrated in the blend air flap actuator motor to match the position of the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit's integrated rear temperature selection switch. The electric motor moves the blend air flap and shutoff flap, thus regulating the recirculated air's rate of air flow over the roof air conditioning evaporator. The blend air flap potentiometer integrated into the blend air flap actuator motor provides the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit with feedback on the position of the blend air flap and the shutoff flap, thus enabling it to be regulated.
