GF83.57-D-2010H Rear Heater Temperature Control, Function

- with CODE (H13) Additional heat exchanger in load compartment
- except CODE (HH9) Regulated air conditioning (Tempmatic)

S98 KLA control and operating unit
S98s7 Rear air conditioning button
S98s15 Rear temperature selection switch
S98s16 Rear blower switch

The rear heater temperature can only be regulated by the rear temperature selection switch integrated into the KLA control and operating unit if it is switched on using the integrated rear air conditioning button. Activation of the rear heater is indicated by illumination of the red light emitting diode (LED) in the rear air conditioning button.
The rear heater enables a pleasant interior climate to be set in the passenger or load compartment of the vehicle during different weather conditions.
The rear temperature selection switch is used to adjust the temperature required in the passenger or load compartment of the vehicle. The temperature in the passenger or load compartment of the vehicle can be reduced by turning the rear temperature selection switch to the left. The temperature in the passenger or load compartment of the vehicle can be increased by turning the rear temperature selection switch to the right.
Depending on the temperature required, the position of the flap integrated into the rear heater water valve (A32/1y1) can be electrically adjusted via the rear heater water valve motor (A32/1m2).
This in turn regulates the flow of coolant through the rear heater heat exchanger. The KLA control and operating unit receives feedback concerning the position of the flap via the rear heater water valve potentiometer (A32/1r1) integrated into the rear heater water valve, enabling the flap to be controlled.

The recirculated air cannot be cooled using the rear temperature selection switch.

To speed up the increase or reduction in temperature, the rear blower switch integrated into the KLA control and operating unit can be used to adjust the output of the rear heater blower motor (A32/1m1) in 3 stages. The recirculated air is distributed via the blow out air duct and the air vent in the side paneling at the bottom left front behind the driver seat.
