The audio system can be operated using the following controls:
- Control buttons on radio (A2)
- Left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111)

These operating instructions consist of the following subfunctions:
^ Menu "Radio"
^ Menu "Disc"
^ Menu "Telephony"
^ Sound settings
^ System settings

Menu "Radio"
If the "Radio" menu is activated using the "Radio" hardkey, the application executed last is started. If a different application is to be started, the "Radio" hardkey must be pressed repeatedly until the required menu item is selected in the "Radio" menu.
The "RADIO" menu subfunction comprises the following additional subfunctions:
^ Radio mode (FM/SW/LW/MW)
^ Digital Audio Broadcasting (Digital Radio) (DAB) radio (with code (537) Digital radio)

Radio mode (FM/SW/LW/MW)
If the menu item "Radio" in the "Radio" menu is activated using the "Radio" hardkey, the default screen appears. The following appears on the display of the radio:
- Status line
- Current station frequency

- Field of application
- Stations currently receivable and numbers of their memory locations (station name with radio data system (RDS) or frequency)
- Function line
- "Radio", "Memory" and "Sound"

The "Radio" hardkey can be used to switch between the following wavebands:
- FM (ultra-short wave)
- MW (medium wave)
- SW (short wave)
- LW (long wave)

The associated submenus can be called up on the radio display in the following menu items:
- Menu item "Radio"
- "Station list" (in FM waveband only and in DAB mode (with code (537) Digital radio)
- "Frequency entry"
- "Fixed frequency" (only in FM waveband)
- "TA" (Traffic Announcement)

- Menu item "Memory"
- "Auto memory"
- "Stored stations"

- "Tone" menu item
- "Treble"
- "Bass"
- "Balance/Fader"
- "Surround sound" (with code (810) Sound system)

The menu items are selected and settings made using the control buttons on the radio or using the multifunction steering wheel button groups.

DAB mode (with code (537) Digital radio)
If the menu item "DAB" in the "Radio" menu is activated using the "Radio" hardkey, the default screen appears. The following appears on the display of the radio:
- Status line
- Name of set ensemble

- Field of application
- Currently receivable stations

- Function line
- "DAB", "Memory", "left double arrow button" "right double arrow button" and "Sound"

The associated submenus can be called up on the radio display in the following menu items:
- Menu item "DAB"
- "Station list"
- "Subprograms"
- "TA" (Traffic Announcement)

- Menu item "Memory"
- "Auto memory"
- "Stored stations"

- Menu item "left double arrow button" "right double arrow button"
- "Ensemble search or cancel search"

- "Tone" menu item
- "Treble"
- "Bass"
- "Balance/Fader"
- "Surround sound" (with code (810) Sound system)

The menu items are selected and settings made using the control buttons on the radio or using the multifunction steering wheel button groups.

Menu "Disc"
If the "Disc" menu is activated using the "Disc" hardkey, the application executed last is started. If a different application is to be started, the "Disc" hardkey must be pressed repeatedly until the required menu item is selected in the "Disc" menu.

The "Disc" menu subfunction comprises the following additional subfunctions:
^ CD or MP3
^ Media interface (with code (518) Media interface)
^ AUX

CD or MP3
If the menu item "CD" or "MP3" in the "Disc" menu is activated using the "Disc" hardkey, the default screen appears. The following appears on the display of the radio:
- Status line
- No display

- Field of application

- With CD mode
- Data storage device type (CD), data storage device position in media list, track number, track name (if available on CD), track playing time, graphical time display, current playback option and data storage device name (if available on CD)

- With MP3 mode
- Data storage device type (MP3), data storage type position in media list, track number, track name, track playing time, graphical time and track display, current playback option and current folder

- Function line
- With CD mode
- "CD", "Track list", "Media" (with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer) or "Medium" (with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio) and "Sound"

- With MP3 mode
- "MP3", "Folder", "Media" (with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer) or "Medium" (with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio) and "Sound"

The associated submenus can be called up on the radio display in the following menu items:
- Menu item "CD" or "MP3"
- "Normal track order"
- "Track mix"
- "Folder shuffle" (only with MP3 mode)
- "TA" (Traffic Announcement)
- "Read CD database, switch on/off" (with CD mode)

- Menu item "Track list" (with CD mode) or "Folder" (with MP3 mode)
- "Display track list" (with CD mode)
- "Folder selection" (with MP3 mode)

- "Media" menu item (with code (510) Audio 20 incl. CD changer) or "Medium" (with code (523) Radio MB Audio 20)
- Media selection from media list (CD or MP3)

- "Tone" menu item
- "Treble"
- "Bass"
- "Balance/Fader"
- "Surround sound" (with code (810) Sound system)

The menu items are selected and settings made using the control buttons on the radio or using the multifunction steering wheel button groups.

Media interface (with code (518) Media interface)
If the menu item "Media Int." in the "Disc" menu is activated using the "Disc" hardkey, the default screen appears. The following appears on the display of the radio:
- Status line
- Artist name

- Field of application
- Current track number, track name, graphical time and track display, name of current album and symbol for connected medium (e.g. iPod)

- Function line
- "Media Int.", "Music", "Medium" and "Sound"

The associated submenus can be called up on the radio display in the following menu items:
- Menu item "Media Int."
- "Display Meta data"
- "Active Partition"
- "Normal track order"
- "Track mix"
- "Category shuffle" or "folder shuffle" (only with USB mass storage device if folder has been selected)

- Menu item "Music"
- "File selection"
- "Folder selection"
- "Category selection"
- "Current track list"
- "Alphabetic sequence"
- "Folder"

- Menu item "Medium"
- "Media selection" via media list (list of connected devices, e.g. iPod)

- "Tone" menu item
- "Treble"
- "Bass"
- "Balance/Fader"
- "Surround sound" (with code (810) Sound system)

The menu items are selected and settings made using the control buttons on the radio or using the multifunction steering wheel button groups.

The menu navigation and display of the connection options are shown on the display of the radio and are dependent on the respective portable terminal connected.

AUX
If the menu item "AUX" in the "Disc" menu is activated using the "Disc" hardkey, the default screen appears. The following appears on the display of the radio:
- Status line
- No display

- Field of application
- No display, 2 speaker symbols only

- Function line
- "AUX" and "Tone"

The associated submenus can be called up on the radio display in the following menu items:
- "AUX" menu item
- No other submenus

- "Tone" menu item
- "Treble"
- "Bass"
- "Balance/Fader"
- "Surround sound" (with code (810) Sound system)

The menu items are selected and settings made using the control buttons on the radio or using the multifunction steering wheel button groups.

The menu navigation and display of the connection options are shown on the display of the radio and are dependent on the respective portable terminal connected.

Menu "Telephony"
The following two variants are available:
- Basic telephony (with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio or with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer)
- Comfort telephony (with code (386) Mobile phone)

Telephone
If the "Telephone (Tel)" menu is activated using the "Tel" hardkey, the default screen appears. The following appears on the display of the radio:

- Status line
- Name of network provider, field strength of mobile telephone network, readiness indicator (telephone call active or not) or envelope symbol (for SMS, (with code (386) Mobile phone))

- Field of application
- Symbol representing a mobile phone keypad and speller with characters for entering call numbers

- Function line
- "Telephone", "Name", "SMS" (with code (386) Mobile phone) and "Call lists"

The associated submenus can be called up on the radio display in the following menu items:

- Menu item "Telephone"
- "Bluetooth telephone"
- "Import contacts" (with code (386) Mobile phone)
- "Delete external data" (with code (386) Mobile phone)
- "Set volume"

- Menu item "Name"
- "Display phone book"

- "SMS" menu item (with code (386) Mobile phone)
- "SMS"

- Menu item "Call lists"
- "Display or delete call lists"
- Handsfree system microphone group (A67b1) OFF or ON (during phone call)

The menu items are selected and settings made using the control buttons on the radio or using the multifunction steering wheel button groups.

Read access to the phone book of the mobile phone is provided if the mobile phone supports the Bluetooth Phonebook Access Profile (PBAP). Otherwise, the entries in the telephone book on the mobile phone can be transferred to the radio only by means of "vCards".

Sound settings
If the sound menu is activated using the "Sound settings" hardkey or by selecting the menu item "Sound" in the respective menus, the default screen appears. The following appears on the display of the radio:
- Status line
- No display

- Field of application
- Bar or status displays for respective settings

- Function line
- "Treble", "Bass", "Bal/Fad" and "Sound" (with code (810) Sound system)

In the following menu items, the associated bar and status displays can be called up on the radio display:

- Menu item "Treble"
- Adjustment of treble for following audio sources:
- Radio (FM and AM)
- DAB (with code (537) Digital radio)
- CD and MP3
- Media interface (with code (518) Media interface)
- AUX (without code (518) Media interface)

- Menu item "Bass"
- Adjustment of bass for following audio sources:
- Radio (FM and AM)
- DAB (with code (537) Digital radio)
- CD and MP3
- Media interface (with code (518) Media interface)
- AUX (without code (518) Media interface)

- Menu item "Bal/Fad"
- Adjustment of balance and fader for all audio sources

- "Sound" menu point (with code (810) Sound system)
- LOGIC7 function ON/OFF (with code (810) Sound system) for following audio sources:
- FM radio
- DAB (with code (537) Digital radio)
- CD and MP3
- Media interface (with code (518) Media interface)
- AUX (without code (518) Media interface)

The selection and settings can be made via the control buttons on the radio.

System settings
If the system settings are activated using the "SYS" hardkey, the default mask appears. The following appears on the display of the radio:
- Status line
- No display
- Field of application
- Spanner and screwdriver symbol
- Function line
- "System" and "Display off"

In the following menu items, the associated bar and status displays can be called up on the radio display:

- Menu item "System"
- Set language
- Call up display settings
- Enter Bluetooth settings
- Reset radio

- Menu item "Display off"
- Radio display OFF

The radio display is switched on again by pressing one of the control buttons on the radio.

The selection and settings can be made via the control buttons on the radio.

The following settings can be made in the display settings:
- Day design
- Night design
- Automatic

Bluetooth-capable devices can only be connected to the radio if they support Hands Free Profile 1.0 or 1.5.

The following languages can be selected for the radio display:
- "Instrument cluster (A1) synchronized" (the settings for the instrument cluster are saved)
- "Danish"
- "German"
- "English"
- "French"
- "Spanish"
- "Italian"
- "Dutch"
- "Portuguese"
- "Russian"
- "Swedish"
- "Turkish"
