GF40.15-P-5123GM TPM (RDK) Control Unit, Component Description
GF40.15-P-5123GM TPM [RDK] control unit, component description
- with CODE (470) Tire pressure monitor (base)
- with CODE (475) Tire pressure monitor (premium)
Component Identification:
Location
The TPM [RDK] control unit is located in the right of the trunk in the wheel arch.
Task
The TPM [RDK] control unit has the following tasks:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The following sensors are read in via a direct line:
- Central TPM [RDK] antenna (A2/97)
Interior CAN
The following signals are read in over the interior CAN:
- Vehicle speed signal, from instrument cluster (A1)
- Outside air temperature, from AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) (without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) or from comfort AAC control and operating unit (N22/7) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)
- Circuit 61, from front SAM control unit (N10)
- Circuit 15, from EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)
- Country code, engine/body variant and diagnosis active, from central gateway control unit (N93)
- Signal from steering angle sensor (N49), from steering column tube module (N80)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following lines:
^ Local Interconnect Network (LIN)
^ Interior CAN
LIN
The following components are actuated via LIN:
- Left rear TPM wheel antenna (A2/46) (with code (475) Tire pressure monitor (Premium))
- Right rear TPM wheel antenna (A2/47) (with code (475) Tire pressure monitor (Premium))
Interior CAN
The following components are actuated via the interior CAN:
- Menu displays and warning messages in instrument cluster
Variants
The TPM [RDK] control unit is used for two versions of the system:
- Vehicles with code (470) Tire pressure monitor (standard)
- Vehicles with code (475) Tire pressure monitor (premium)
The same control unit is used for both versions.
