Function requirements for Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR), general information
^ Vehicle speed <30 km/h
^ DSR switched on using the Downhill Speed Regulation (N72/1 s24) button
^ DSR set speed is preconfigured (available when ignition ON)

Downhill Speed Regulation general information
The DSR is a downhill speed regulation feature used when off road.

Downhill Speed Regulation function sequence
The function sequence is subdivided into the following steps:
^ Function sequence for switching DSR on and off
^ Function sequence for set speed
^ Function abort function sequence

Function sequence for switching DSR on and off
The Downhill Speed Regulation button on the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) can be used by the driver to switch the DSR on or off.

The "switch ON" signal is received by the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4).

A red LED integrated in the Downhill Speed Regulation button indicates whether the speed limiter is active.

A previously selected variable speed limiter (e.g. cruise control) is switched off when the DSR is active.

Function sequence for set speed
The minimum DSR set speed is 4 km/h.

The DSR set speed can be preconfigured in 2-km/h increments from 4 to 18 km/h in the multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1) using the cruise control lever (S40/4).

While driving downhill the set speed can also be varied via the cruise control switch.

Function abort function sequence
When the vehicle is accelerated, the DSR switches to "passive". If the vehicle speed drops below a threshold value of 35 km/h, the DSR regulates the speed back to the previously set speed setting. If the vehicle speed exceeds a threshold value of 35 km/h, the DSR and the function LED in the DSR button are switched off. A cancel notification is also shown in the instrument cluster's multifunction display.
